++ My exchange semester at University of St. Gallen ++ Have you ever seen a Christmas tree being dropped from the sky by a helicopter? Yes, me neither. That is, before I came to St. Gallen - the business students' capital of Switzerland, the historical capital of textiles, as well as the place I fell in love with in just one semester. After 5 months in St. Gallen, not only have I tried the cheese, the chocolate, Bibberli, and Älplermagronen (a traditional pasta with applesauce, which is certainly better than you might expect) but also completed 8 hikes, drunk fresh milk on top of the Oeschinensee peak, and encountered goats, cows, and sheep on every trail without exception. Beyond the outdoors, the University itself has proven that the widespread positive word of mouth didn’t lie. The opportunity to sit down with world leaders over lunch is something offered by few universities, but St. Gallen is definitely one of them, inviting innumerable guests to our event hub, “Square". Besides academics, our gym offers a wide range of sports for free, from ice bathing to sailing, along with weekly language conversations in a variety of languages (in my case, German) which has accelerated my language learning process. As a student seeking a combination of academic rigor and memorable scenery, my time at University of St. Gallen has offered me the perfect balance of both. I cannot wait for the second term here (and to see how Switzerland shines in the spring). Thank you Universität St.Gallen (HSG) for this semester. 😇
