Before we turn the page on March, let us rewind to one of its highlights. On March 10, over 600 students filled the Audimax for our annual Info Event Outgoing. All freshly allocated to one of our 200+ partner universities across 7 continents, they're now preparing for one of the most transformative experiences of their academic journey: an exchange semester abroad. An exchange is so much more than attending classes in a different country. It's about stepping out of your comfort zone, immersing yourself in a new culture, building friendships that span the globe, and coming back with a broader perspective on the world. The event kicked off with a welcome and interactive Q&A led by Peggy Van der Wallen, followed by some admin information from the Student Mobility team Maria Christine Bader, Paula Vignola and Andrea Häfner - who walked students through the full exchange journey: before, during and after the exchange from deadlines, to crediting and everything in between. Amélie Feil, a BIA student, took the stage to share her firsthand experience of preparing for and living through an exchange semester, an inspiring reminder of why this matters. The conversation shifted to responsibility when David V. Boivin and Cyril Brunner delivered a compelling session on sustainable travel and the climate impact of aviation, encouraging students to explore the world — but to do so thoughtfully. Roger Furrer from our HSG Alumni then reminded everyone that our community is truly global, with 60+ international alumni clubs ready to welcome them wherever their exchange takes them. But perhaps the best part? The networking session that closed the event. Students met others heading to the same university, exchanged tips, created group chats, and started building the connections that will make their time abroad even richer. With 869 applicants this year, a 53% mobility rate (#1 in Switzerland! 🏆), and 218 partner agreements worldwide, HSG continues to lead the way in student exchange. 🚀 A heartfelt thank you to the entire Student Mobility Services team for yet another successful edition. And to all our outgoing students: we wish you all a wonderfull semester abroad! Embrace the challenge, lean into the unfamiliar, and make the most of every single day abroad. And when you are back, don't forget to write your experience reports — it's your way of passing the torch to those who come next.
