This morning, I found myself staring at the rendering of Detroit’s new soccer stadium—and I couldn’t stop smiling. It’s going to be absolutely gorgeous. Another jewel in a city that’s been steadily building a crown of accomplishments. When I think about Detroit today—our vibrant arenas, the stunning International RiverWalk, the new Skywalk, the growth at Huntington Place, and a food scene that rivals any city—it’s clear: we’ve become a destination for both business and leisure. I’ve worked in the City of Detroit for over 30 years. It’s always been special to me. But lately, that feeling has shifted into something more—a deep, undeniable pride in seeing how far we’ve come and where we’re headed. Here’s to Detroit. Strong. Beautiful.
