Last month, I was honored to take part in a special FYC screening of Don't Be Late, Myra and Where the Light Enters You, co-hosted by Sakhi for South Asian Survivors and Equality Now I am also proud to serve as Executive Producer of Don't Be Late, Myra. These two films are bold in their storytelling, illuminating the resilience of women and girls navigating violence and adversity and the systems that both fail and uplift them. From the streets of Lahore to a hospital in rural India, the narratives are raw, urgent, and deeply human. They remind us that storytelling can expose hidden truths and compel us to confront injustice not as distant observers, but as active participants in change. Our post-screening Q&A with Kavita Mehra and directors Afia Nathaniel and Hemal Trivedi delved into everything from the role of patriarchy and casting, to the emotional toll of community care work, to the power of storytelling as a force in advancing the global movement for gender justice. Grateful to all who joined us and to the brilliant filmmakers who gave voice to stories so often left untold. #ForYourConsideration #FYC #EndSexualViolence #StorytellingForChange #EqualityNow #UN #SDG5
