DON’T. ❌ Smithsonian Libraries and Archives (SLA) conservator William Bennett stabilizes archival records for future generations of researchers. Here, he’s removing crusty, old tape from a field book that belonged to ornithologist Edgar Alexander Mearns, who accompanied former United States President Theodore Roosevelt on his Smithsonian-sponsored expedition to various parts of Africa in 1909-1910.
