Our South African team was proud to participate in the CESA - Consulting Engineers South Africa Infrastructure Indaba 2026, held from 18–19 March in KwaZulu-Natal, under the theme Pioneering Change – Engineering Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth. The event brought together leaders from across the infrastructure sector to connect, share insights and explore the future of delivery in South Africa. Our exhibition booth was a great touchpoint throughout the event, creating space for conversations with clients, partners and industry peers, while highlighting SMEC’s multidisciplinary capability across the project lifecycle. The exhibition floor brought together a strong mix of consulting engineers, contractors, specialist suppliers and technology providers. A highlight of the event was a key session on engineering, procurement and infrastructure delivery models that was facilitated by our Africa Lead and CESA Board Member Logashri Sewnarain. The discussion brought together perspectives from across the public sector, audit and oversight bodies, treasury, engineering institutions and advisory specialists, exploring how stronger alignment between planning, governance and technical delivery can unlock more effective infrastructure outcomes. The conversation was practical and forward-looking, highlighting opportunities to improve delivery through collaboration, innovation and more responsive systems.
