We have more exciting news to share! Following the raise of our 4.7m € pre-Series A round, we significantly expanded our team, so let us introduce you to our newest members of the smartbax crew: Dr. Kamal Kumar is a dedicated organic chemist with decades of experience in both academia and industry, i.a. as independent group leader at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology in Dortmund and at AiCuris Anti-Infective Cures AG. He joined our team as Head of Medicinal Chemistry to lead our hit-to-lead and lead optimisation programmes. Dr. Sebastian Schreiber just finished his PhD at the Universität Münster with special focus on computational drug design, and joined our team as Scientist, accelerating our compound design by combining structure-guided analysis with state-of-the-art computational chemistry. Last but not least, Sophie Streckenbach recently graduated as M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Universität Bayreuth. In addition to her academic education, she brings extensive practical working experience to the team, through internships at SYNLAB Gauting and Fraunhofer IZI in Leipzig, and joined us as Laboratory Technician.
