Did you know that dozens of SKA-Mid's sub-reflectors are being produced in Spain? πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈπŸŒπŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ The first Spanish sub-reflector recently passed factory testing, an important milestone meaning full-scale production can now begin. βœ… Astronomical signals are first captured by the sub-reflector's bigger sibling, the 15m main dish. The signals "bounce" onto the sub-reflector, which in turn directs them into the receivers. Spanish companies EOSOL and Compoxi are now ready to produce a total of 44 sub-reflectors each measuring 4.5 metres across!
