What do young Europeans see online – and why does it matter for democracy? 🧐 Social media has become the central gateway to information in the digital age. Its algorithms steer civic discourse and shape what political content we encounter — often in ways we don’t see. In March 2026, Sitra will publish a new international study on how the algorithms of major social media platforms shape the political content shown to 18–24‑year‑olds in Finland, France and Romania.
