This National Diabetes Week, we're helping turn up the volume. This year's theme, Living Out Loud, is a powerful reminder that behind every statistic is a person living with diabetes, their family, and their story. At SiSU Health, we're privileged to see another side of that story through the health checks Australians complete every day. Based on almost 350,000 SiSU Health Checks completed in 2025, our data estimates that around 1 in 16 Australians are living with diabetes. It also highlights important health inequities: • Australians living in the most disadvantaged communities are 1.86 times more likely to be living with diabetes. • People living in regional and remote Australia face higher rates of diabetes, obesity and elevated diabetes risk. • Men are 1.26 times more likely to report living with diabetes than women. These insights reinforce what we already know: where we live, our circumstances and our access to preventative healthcare all influence our health. That's why prevention matters. A Free and easy health check can help people better understand key health metrics like blood pressure and their AUSDRISK score, supporting earlier conversations about diabetes risk and opportunities to take action before disease develops. This National Diabetes Week, let's continue listening, learning and making prevention more accessible for every Australian.
