Some lessons can't be found in a textbook. As part of NIE301 Learning with Communities, SUSS students spent time with seniors from Lions Befrienders, listening to stories about growing up in a different Singapore, the traditions they carried, and the experiences that shaped their lives. For many students, it changed how they thought about heritage. Not as something preserved behind glass panels, but something passed from one person to another through conversations, memories and everyday experiences. Working alongside the National Museum of Singapore, students explored how culture is kept alive through the people who have lived it. Because sometimes, understanding a community starts with taking the time to listen: https://social.suss.to/S
