We often talk about AI in terms of what it can do. Less often about whom it is built for. Led by Dr Kelvin Tan (陈正见) and the research team at SUSS, LOVOT, a social robot designed as an emotional companion, is helping explore that question in meaningful ways. For over two years, SUSS, together with AWWA Ltd and Temasek Foundation, conducted one of the first large-scale real-world studies in Singapore to examine how LOVOT can support seniors and children with higher support needs. The study successfully tracked participants' experiences over time and found improvements in well-being and social functioning, along with the emergence of new sources of joy and comfort. By complementing traditional care rather than replacing it, this is just the beginning of what LOVOT can do in the future of AI for good. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gc_W34zp
