At the recent STB Heartbeat townhall session, we paused to shine a light on The Work You Don’t See – the quiet, behind the scenes efforts that keep STB moving every day. Here’s a snapshot of what we unpacked: ✈️ On 8 Mar, a special flight, SQ8002, was arranged to Muscat, Oman for foreign visitors stranded in Singapore due to Middle East airspace closures. A cross-functional STB taskforce sprang into action to arrange this, and team members shared what it was like to move at speed, across roles and seniority, to support visitors when it mattered most. 🎌 The STB World Expo 2025 team took us into their journey in Osaka, Japan – sharing the milestones, teamwork and friendships forged along the way as they welcomed over 2.1 million visitors to the Singapore Pavilion. 🎨 From launching the We Don’t Wait for Fun campaign for Early Careers travellers, to bringing Singapore Art Week (SAW) to life, our colleagues from Marketing Group shared how collaboration makes the magic happen. Highlights included insider stories of working with celebrities Nick Jonas, Ha Ji Won and Zhuzhu for SAW’s first ever celebrity engagement. 🚢 Our cruise team pulled back the curtain on what it took to bring Disney Adventure to Singapore – from years of planning to close partnership work – and the many unseen efforts that make landmark collaborations possible. We also took time to recognise our long serving STBians, and fellow colleagues who have been making our workdays brighter in their own ways: 🏅 We celebrated two STBians marking their retirement after decades of dedicated service – Akiko Yoshida, who served 45 years with STB Japan since 1981, and Rajeev Vij, who spent 21 years with STB India, South Asia & Africa (New Delhi). Their journeys reflect the quiet commitment that has long shaped STB. 📞 The Heartbeat telephone booth became a space for STBians to share quick thank yous and heartfelt shoutouts, celebrating colleagues who made a difference. From moments that required calm coordination under pressure, to months of teamwork that never make the spotlight, Heartbeat was a reminder that progress is powered not just by big ideas, but by the collective dedication, camaraderie and commitment of our people. #PassionMadePossible
