SIAC held its Annual Appreciation Event on 10 March 2026, to commemorate our 35th anniversary, and to thank the arbitration community, our partners in the local and global legal and business communities and users for their continued support. The event gathered more than 350 attendees and was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Edwin Tong SC, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, Singapore, Judges of the Supreme Court of Singapore, government officials, SIAC Board and Court members, institutional partners and members from the international legal and arbitration community. Minister Edwin congratulated SIAC on its 35th anniversary and commended the SIAC Board & Court members for their dedication and commitment to building the institution over the years. He emphasised the importance of building a trusted legal system, and reinforced Singapore’s commitment to building international partnerships and growing Singapore’s dispute resolution services globally. In her welcome address, Gloria Lim, CEO, SIAC, reaffirmed SIAC's commitment to remain at the forefront of procedural innovation and efficiency. She also announced that SIAC’s rules had been selected for both the 33rd Vis Moot and 23rd Vis East Moot, and invited attendees to the SIAC Symposium on 24 August 2026, held in conjunction with the Singapore Convention Week. In his opening remarks, Davinder Singh SC, Chairman, SIAC, shared that people around the world have come to trust SIAC and have confidence in the Singapore system. With the strong support of the government, judiciary and legislature, active steps had been taken to support the growth and development of international arbitration. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to all who had contributed to SIAC’s development and growth. Lucy Reed, President, SIAC Court of Arbitration, and Vivekananda Neelakantan, Registrar, SIAC, presented key highlights and trends in SIAC’s 2025 caseload statistics. They announced that in 2025, SIAC received its second-highest caseload of 886 new cases, with a total sum in dispute of SGD 18.66 billion. The event ended with a reception, where attendees were presented with a commemorative limited edition SIAC stamp collection, featuring pictures of SIAC’s first office signage and news coverage of when it was established, SIAC’s rules and its current premises at Maxwell Chambers.
