A launch ceremony for the SIAC Beijing Representative Office was held in Beijing on 25 May 2026. Edwin Tong SC, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs of Singapore, together with representatives from China’s Ministry of Justice, and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, attended and delivered speeches at the ceremony. More than 100 invited guests from the government, business, legal, and academic communities witnessed the ceremony. The opening of the Beijing office reflects SIAC’s strong and sustained engagement with Chinese users, who have consistently ranked among SIAC’s top foreign users for many years. This continued growth underscores both the increasing sophistication of Chinese cross-border commerce and SIAC’s reputation as a neutral, efficient, and trusted forum for international dispute resolution. The Beijing office marks an important milestone in SIAC’s global expansion and will further strengthen SIAC’s presence in China. Together with SIAC’s Shanghai Representative Office (established in 2016), it will deepen engagement with China’s legal and business communities through outreach initiatives, training programmes, seminars, and collaboration with arbitration practitioners, in-house counsel, and institutional partners.
