𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 – 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. Yesterday, we convened directors and senior leaders for a 𝗦𝗜𝗗 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 (complimentary for SID members) with our knowledge partner, Hakluyt & Company. The session featured an insightful sharing from Christopher Napoli and Michael Mayer as they unpacked the fast-evolving Middle East conflict and what it means for board strategy, risk management and long-term resilience. This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by SID CEO-Designate, Emily Poon, featuring Christopher, Michael, as well as Su Yin Anand and Shabbir Hassanbhai – bringing diverse boardroom, geopolitical and cross-market perspectives into a rich and candid exchange. Against a backdrop of uncertainty, one thing is clear: 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸. 🔑 Key takeaways from our Current Topics webinar – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗡𝗼𝘄: ✅ 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 – adopt a wartime mindset; resilience and adaptability are essential. ✅ 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀-𝗼𝗻 – use trigger points as guides, not just quarterly reviews. ✅ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 – diversify capital, leverage technology and strengthen trust with stakeholders and employees. ✅ 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 – access new flows of talent and capital. Regional integration can be a competitive advantage. ✅ 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆 – protect balance sheets and secure working capital proactively. A big thank you to our speakers and participants for a thoughtful discussion held under Chatham House Rules. As boards confront a more fragmented, multi-polar world, the Singapore Institute of Directors remains committed to convening timely conversations – enabling directors to stay ahead and learn together, drawing on diverse perspectives and expertise across our ecosystem. --- 📢 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 - Complimentary for SID members Sustaining ESG Momentum: The Critical Role of Directors (𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘦) 📅 30 April 2026 🕑 2:00pm – 4:00pm (SGT) Register here: CTP 7: https://lnkd.in/gB2BXUAw #SID #BoardLeadership #CorporateGovernance #RiskManagement #CurrentTopics
