#Singapore has been recognised as the world’s most competitive economy in the 2026 IMD World Competitiveness Center Rankings, driven by its strong performance in business efficiency. Speaking at IMD’s summit, EDB Managing Director Jermaine Loy highlighted how Singapore works to stay resilient and relevant to the world by: 🌏 Transforming and upgrading the economy – Singapore supports companies to adopt new technologies and pursue #innovation, with national AI missions focused on AI-led transformation in advanced manufacturing, connectivity and logistics, finance, and healthcare. In manufacturing, we have built a vibrant ecosystem with deep capabilities and have six World Economic Forum Lighthouse factories recognised for state-of-the-art manufacturing excellence. 👩💼 Investing in talent – Singapore invests heavily in its people. Initiatives like SkillsFuture SG help workers upskill and reskill to adapt to changing industry needs. EDB also works directly with companies on training programmes, ensuring a strong pipeline of talent for key growth sectors. 🤝 Remaining trusted and stable – Businesses make long-term investments when they have confidence in a stable and well-connected operating environment. Singapore will remain open and work closely with like-minded partners to facilitate trade flows, promote cross-border collaboration, and secure supply chain resilience.
