#Singapore is getting its first High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) #advancedpackaging facility to serve rising demand for advanced memory and storage amid the AI boom. Micron Technology, one of the world’s largest memory manufacturers, broke ground on the S$9.5b facility today, which is adjacent to its current manufacturing operations in the north of Singapore. The new facility will incorporate sustainability features such as a greenhouse gas abatement system, a water recycling system and waste circularity. It will also be highly automated through AI-driven solutions and designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification requirements. Singapore is already the site of Micron’s global centre of excellence for NAND flash memory and its new investment is a show of confidence in Singapore’s competitiveness as a critical node in the global #semiconductor supply chain. The site will commence operations in 2026, creating about 1,400 new jobs.
