Asia-Pacific isn't waiting for #AI. It's already deploying it at scale. Global technology leaders are building closer to where growth, talent and demand converge — and #Singapore is increasingly at the centre of that convergence. When OpenAI began looking for an Asia-Pacific base, Singapore "stood out quickly." The city-state ranked among the highest per capita ChatGPT usage globally, reflecting what Oliver J., OpenAI's Managing Director for International, calls the region's "practical optimism" — a willingness to deploy new tools rather than debate their potential. That same spirit is visible across Singapore's AI ecosystem. OpenAI is working with Grab to automate mapmaking and with Singapore Airlines to improve operational workflows. Google DeepMind has established a research lab here to advance AI for Asia-Pacific's diverse languages and cultures. NVIDIA is co-developing the next generation of AI specialists with Singapore's academic institutions. Together, these moves show how Singapore is becoming a regional launchpad for applied AI, where frontier technologies are tested, refined, and scaled for real-world deployment. As Oliver puts it: "Singapore is central to our mission to close the gap between what AI can do and how effectively it's actually being used.” Discover how global companies are deepening their presence in Singapore to drive AI adoption across Asia-Pacific: https://lnkd.in/e9hqHBtj
