The latest forays into semiotics by the German intelligence agency BfD bears the heavy imprint of a pseudo-scientific 2025 ‘report’ on ‘antisemitic symbols after Oct 7’ issued by Natan Sharansky’s Combatting Antisemitism Movement (CAM) - which is also key to Israel’s attempts to force the IHRA definition of antisemitism down the throats of city administrations across the Western hemisphere - and Prof Gunther Jikeli (diagnosed as «the fiercest defender of Israel on campus» by the Jewish Forward Magazine, and a scholar who now tours Israeli conferences on antisemitism with a presentation entitled «Inside the Minds of pro-Hamas students» [sic]) Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism at Indiana University. «Civil liberties, academic freedom and freedom of expression? No, thanks, we’re German after all.»
