Every patient has the right to receive health care in a language they understand. But too often language barriers can negatively impact the care experience — especially for seniors. A recent study led by Dr. Christina Reppas-Rindlisbacher, a Geriatrician at Sinai Health and UHN, examines how language barriers can contribute to longer hospital stays and a higher risk of delirium following hip fracture surgery. Her work shines a light on practical steps that can help make care more language-accessible for older adults, including expanded access to interpretation services and multilingual hospital resources. This Seniors Month, learn more about Dr. Reppas-Rindlisbacher's work is turning research into practice to help improve care for older adults. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gHMDWxcp #SupportSinaiHealth #PowerOfCommunity #ImpactofResearch #SeniorsMonth
