As a palliative care physician at Sinai Health, Dr. Marnie Howe supports patients and families as they navigate some of life’s most challenging moments. Through her work, she has seen how, even in times of grief, families take the time to acknowledge the care they received. Our Grateful Hearts program makes space for that recognition, giving patients a way to honour a physician or care team who made a difference, while supporting the compassionate care others will rely on in the future. “I just want to say how meaningful it is to receive this recognition,” says Dr. Howe. “It means that at a time when families and caregivers are grieving, they take the time to show the impact of our program and the care that we've provided.
