What is your purpose? What do I stand for—here and now? And what contribution do I want to make to society? These were the leading questions at this year’s Summer of Purpose gathering at SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator – a unique event where business, academia, arts, and civil society come together to reflect, challenge, and co-create. It was on Goethe’s anniversary. His answer to the question of purpose was simple yet resonates with me, according to Timo Meynhardt: “To meet the demands of the day.” With N3XTCODER, our “purpose” is clear: we leverage the potential of AI for the common good. We believe that technology must not only open up opportunities but also carry responsibilities. That means building solutions that help society navigate complexity while staying rooted in values like openness, sustainability, and freedom. For me, Leipzig felt a bit like a family reunion. It brought me back to my roots: I started my professional journey working with Hans Reitz to support the vision of Muhammad Yunus. After a weekend reflecting the inspiring conversations, my purpose remains clear: finding creative and innovative solutions to the most pressing problems of our time. Thank you Hans Reitz for the invitation, and the incredible Summer of Purpose community – Dr. Kerstin Humberg, Matthias Boxberger Nina Zantout Jeannine Koch Cathrin Mühlbauer Niels Laupert Naïs Désirée Graswald Lale Karahan Aleska Feit Rebecca Ebner (Becher) Stephan Grabmeier Vitus Lietsch Katja Kaltenbach Antje Schubert Isabelle von Polenz Dr. Anne Bäro Christian Wehner Tamara Dietl Prof. Dr. Dieter Frey Your energy and vision continue to inspire me and push us all forward. If we manage to empower the next generations with courage, confindence creativity, and responsibility, then everything is going to be amazing! Happy Monday ✌
