Passionate About International Collaboration, Teamwork, Growth & Transformation
After three remarkable years working with and for Volkswagen Financial Services (UK), last month marked the close of a deeply meaningful chapter for me. Saying goodbye to a role that has given me so much is never easy, but I do so with immense pride and gratitude. Together we navigated internal and external restructurings, countless projects, and significant change initiatives. Did we always get it right? Certainly not — but we always learnt and grew stronger through the process. Beyond milestones, it is the people and the spirit of VWFS UK that I will carry with me. They might not always perceived it that way, however, I learnt so much from Jean Smith, Mike Todd, Dan James, and Matt Solven — their resilience in the face of headwinds was truly inspiring. Equally, the growing philosophy of putting ourselves in the position of the customer, alongside the company’s commitment to DEI, were two themes that left a lasting impact on me. My time in the United Kingdom has taught me the importance of listening, of leading with compassion, and of facing challenges with courage. I will always hold a deep appreciation for the warmth, traditions, and resilience that define this country and its people. As I return to VW FS in Germany to lead the IT Controlling & Projects Team, I do so with sincere gratitude for everything this journey has given me. I also want to wish my successor, Daniel Mortimer, every success — I know he will make a positive impact and continue to build on the strong foundations that were created together. Finally, to the BoM, the entire FS UK team, the IT organisation, and our valued suppliers — thank you for your support, collaboration, and the memories we’ve shared. It has been a privilege to walk this path with you. Looking ahead, the road ahead is full of opportunity, and I’m certain that, together with Thierry Verbist, Martin Schüler, and Marcus Graefe, we will have great collaboration and achieve remarkable outcomes.
