The world of recruitment is small. Within my first 12 hours of arriving in Brisbane, I had the chance to reconnect with two former colleagues from very different chapters of my career. First was Sarah Yamagata, who became my Head of Learning & Development for RGF (Recruit Holdings) across Asia. And then Steve Giles, who was Employee No. 2 at CDS, the business Jason Dacaret and I later sold to Recruit. Both are now based in Brisbane, both thriving personally and professionally. It was fantastic to catch up with them and be reminded of how lasting the connections in our industry can be.
