COATING COLLABORATION: On the BETTERE EXPEDITION, I went to Switzerland and visited Clemens Disch and Nikolas Paul from Werner Mathis AG to explore the innovation on battery coating lines. If I should name one reason why Europe's Battery Industry is struggling, I would name coating. It lies at the heart of the battery manufacturing process and is key process, responsible for performance metrics and many unwanted ripple effects, such as dendrite formation, binder migration etc.   With their pilot lines, Mathis supports in the development of Europe's coating competences in industry and research.   But what is truly special about Mathis? Technical competences? ➡️ Machine Flexibility - allowing the use of different coating technologies, inspection equipment etc.? ➡️ Custom tailored approach - developing the coating lines with the customer? ➡️ Building upon coating experience since their founding in 1968?   Or is it something completely different, non-technical? ➡️ The process understanding and humbleness that only by working together, Werner Mathis AG can gain a maximum understanding of the process and therewith value for the customer. For example:   With the mixing innovator Eirich Official and hidden-champion slot-die manufacturing, TSE TROLLER AG, Werner Mathis AG is digging deeper into the physics and art of coating.
