Product Manager - Speed Equipment Technologies @SICK | Accelerate production processes. Advance technologies. Shape the future.

Inside PCB Assembly: Why Technology Competence Alone Is Not Enough ⚡ Spoiler: It’s all about understanding the requirements and the processes that emerge from them and not just the technology. In my discussion with Jürgen Michna, Head of Electronic Supply, he said: “You need to understand the requirements and master the processes that follow. Especially when quality and speed are critical”.   What resulted from this discussion, we explored together on the production floor. Here are some key insights: ✅ Optical inspection for extremely low error rates Quality is the result of precision and experience. And of course, powered by a SICK sensors. 😉 ✅ High variance – up to 40,000 variants This requires setups, clustering and special internal developments that are only possible with in-house expertise. ✅ Close communication with R&D Technology and development go hand in hand and that only works when you speak the language of the process. ✅ Chip-on-board technology This demonstrates that even highly complex processes can be mastered without compromising on speed or quality. My conclusion: The best solutions come from understanding the requirements, leveraging deep process know-how and maintaining close communication at all times. This combination ensures that every challenge is met with the right approach. 👉 What is your main focus when implementing the requirements for your PCB assembly processes?
