Did you know that the Kennisprogramma Zeespiegelstijging has unexpectedly added a fourth consortium? It hasn't been announced officially, but its director Alex Hekman described it on LinkedIn. It will be called "nature-based solutions voor zeespiegelstijging" with a set of very interesting partners: Wereld Natuur Fonds (WWF-NL), Topsector Water & Maritiem, #NL2120 and EcoShape. In this article, I argue that this abrupt change of plans signals a realignment of the relationship between engineers and ecologists and the possibility that a tacit decision to defend the bathtub at all costs is in the process of being worked out.
