We just published an exciting new study in Analytical Chemistry. In this study we compared 3 automated methods (#CellSearch, #Parsortix, and #CTCptor) for the enumeration of circulating tumor cells (#CTCs). We systematically evaluated how well each method performed using 7 different cancer cell lines and blood from 27 breast cancer patients, taking into account different cell sizes and variable EpCam expression. Additionally, we could show the automated isolation of both CTCs and circulating cancer associated fibroblasts (#cCAFs) as another important liquid biopsy maker. https://lnkd.in/eePHBdhm This work is the result of a great collaboration with the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (#DGIST) and #CTCELLS which made it possible for Hyeongjung Woo’s to visited our laboratory between 2022-2024.
