I started in logistics at 14, packing books in a publishing distribution company. At the time, I did not know it would become a career. I definitely did not know it would take me through parcel carriers, retail fulfilment, automation, robotics, 3PL operations and now Contract Logistics business development. But 28 years later, one thing is very clear. The basics still matter. Get the goods in properly. Know where the stock is. Pick accurately. Pack correctly. Dispatch on time. Communicate early. Fix problems properly. Do not overpromise. Technology has changed massively. Systems are better. Automation is smarter. Customers expect more. Data matters more than ever. But the fundamentals have not disappeared.
