Owner of Sweet Landon’s | Yorkshire lad keeping memories alive, one paper bag of sweets at a time.

Today, the world says goodbye to David Hockney, one of Britain’s most influential and innovative artists. For me, his passing is deeply personal. Growing up around Salts Mill for nearly 40 years — home to the largest permanent collection of his work — meant being surrounded by creativity, bold thinking, and a constant reminder that Yorkshire talent can reach global heights. Hockney’s work shaped not only the art world, but generations of people who walked through those mill doors and left seeing the world a little differently. A true visionary, a proud Yorkshireman, and an artist whose legacy will continue to inspire communities, businesses, and creatives for years to come.
