There’s been a noticeable shift in recent conversations around Copilot agents. Over the past few weeks, through workshops, webinars, and events like IoIC Festival, we’ve seen a growing number of teams move beyond exploring what agents are and start thinking more seriously about what they could build. What tends to follow quite quickly is a different set of questions. Not around capability, but around focus. Which use cases are worth taking forward, how those ideas align with day-to-day processes, and what’s realistically going to deliver value once implemented. The organisations making the most progress are those that narrow this down early. One well-defined scenario, a clear outcome, and a solid understanding of the data and systems the agent needs to interact with. That approach tends to lead to something far more practical - an agent that supports how work actually happens, rather than something that remains an idea or proof of concept. At Silicon Reef, this is where we’re typically working with IT and digital workplace teams. Helping translate initial ideas into something measurable, manageable, and aligned to the wider environment. If you’re starting to move from early exploration into something more concrete, we’ve shared a more detailed look at how Copilot agents are being used in Microsoft 365 below.
