From pilot to lasting impact 🌱 After end of the pilot phase, SIG and SIG Foundation have handed over the Cartons for Good pilot project in Bangladesh to Akij Monowara Trust – ensuring continuity, local ownership and long-term impact. What started as a pilot to tackle food loss is now a proven model: surplus vegetables are transformed into nutritious, shelf-stable meals, supporting vulnerable communities, and reducing waste at the same time. Since 2019, the initiative has delivered more than 119,000 meals to underprivileged schoolchildren, helping them stay in school instead of working for food, and building brighter futures while saving over 23 tons of food. It has also supported communities in times of crisis, including flood relief efforts. With strong local leadership and continued support from partners such as Stora Enso, Cartons for Good enters its next chapter.
