Nobody tells you this when you start building in data. Tristan Handy said it plainly at Signals25: "There are so many different humans that need to be in the loop of a working end-to-end data system." Platform engineers. Data engineers. Analytics engineers. Analysts. Executives. Each of them needs to trust data differently. Each speaks a different language. In theory, a thumbs-up from a dashboard consumer should travel as a trust signal all the way back through the pipeline. In practice it almost never does. Because every tool in the stack was built for its own persona and trust stays siloed. That tension is at the heart of what Salma and Tristan discussed at Signals25. Full recap on the blog.
