We've been awarded a contract by Romania's Railway Reform Authority for 12 Mireo Plus H hydrogen-powered trainsets. This marks the first #hydrogen train contract in Romania and one of the first in Eastern Europe. 🇷🇴 The Mireo Plus H: * Combines hydrogen fuel cell propulsion with battery energy storage * Is super environment-friendly as it leaves zero local emissions * Operates at speeds up to 120 km/h and has flexible seating space * Sports an optimized design to reduce weight, component complexity, and energy consumption The trains are scheduled to enter passenger service in 2029. This project is an example of how hydrogen technology can support decarbonization goals while modernizing regional rail transport in Romania.
