⚡ E-Safiri was selected as a winner of the Sustainable & Inclusive E-Mobility Catalyzer Award ⚡ Electric mobility cannot scale where the infrastructure to support it does not exist. While electric mobility is gaining momentum, many rural and peri-urban communities still lack reliable access to charging and battery services. Without that infrastructure, the benefits of clean transport remain out of reach for many riders and entrepreneurs. E-Safiri's solution, the Safiri Hubs that are solar-powered mobility hubs that provide charging, battery swapping, and access to electric motorcycles and cargo loaders, is tackling this challenge. The hubs are helping make electric mobility a practical option in communities where these services have traditionally been limited. The model is already taking shape across Western Kenya. With multiple Safiri Hubs in operation and a growing network of electric vehicles, E-Safiri is demonstrating that electric mobility can work beyond major urban centres when the right support systems are in place. 💡 Through the Catalyzer programme, Siemens Stiftung is supporting the team in building its skills as it expands the Safiri Hub network and brings reliable charging and battery services to more communities across Kenya.
