We asked 41 first-year students at the University of Birmingham: How could #VirtualReality make learning more sustainable? The Birmingham Project, a one-week undergraduate challenge, brought together diverse perspectives to explore VR's role in education and campus life. The winning team developed EduQuest, a gamified learning system that turns course content into interactive problem-solving experiences using Siemens Designcenter Immersive Designer and the Sony XR Head-Mounted Display. Kehinde Ibirinde, a first-year medical student: "I was challenged to step out of my comfort zone and develop my innovation skills." As a reward, the team ย - Miftahul Jannat Haifa, Joshua Thasiyantharajah, Divyata Purohit, Sarina Bagri, Ayisha Hussain, Niya Bijendralal, and Cecilia Yip โ will attend TRANSFORM in Manchester to see how companies like Red Bull use Immersive Design in product development. This marks the fourth year we have supported the Birmingham Project, which brought together 300+ students and organizations including BBC Studios, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Birmingham City FC, HSBC, Transport for West Midlands, Volkswagen Group UK Ltd, and West Midlands Combined Authority.
