There’s something incredibly special about seeing a magazine come to life – page by page, word by word. THOTS, the annual magazine of Selaiyur Hall, has always been more than just a publication. It’s a canvas for ideas, a chronicle of our spirit, and a reflection of the voices that make this place a home away from home. Interestingly, the title “THOTS” draws from an archaic Scots usage of the word thot – a historical variant of thought. In early Scottish texts, thot simply meant an idea or reflection. And that’s exactly what this magazine has become: a space for thought, reflection, and meaningful expression. As the Secretary for Debates and Literary Activities of Selaiyur Hall, being part of this journey has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of the year. From scribbling first drafts to the final flip through the printed pages, the process was filled with creativity, collaboration, and a whole lot of heart. A huge thank you to the Editorial Board - Sabarinathan Murugan Souparno Bhattacharya Bonhoffer Zoyen Scudder M, Adhesh N C K, Abisheik Nalliah, Adithyan S S, whose effort patience, and vision are what hold this issue together. You’ve put in the hard work behind the scenes, and it shows in every piece, every layout, every turn of the page. A special note of gratitude to Mr Jaywant Michael for his invaluable contribution to this edition of THOTS. His insight, support, and creative input added a depth and dimension to the magazine that we’re truly grateful for. Thank you, sir, for being a part of this journey with us. To all those who contributed – thank you for pouring your thoughts (or should I say thots) into these pages. You've helped make this edition both meaningful and memorable. Here’s to the minds that dared to reflect, the pens that poured passion, and the pages that captured it all. Here’s to THOTS – a celebration of thought, talent, and timeless expression.
