πŸ”© Marking on wax: how to secure traceability without damaging the material? In aerospace precision casting, wax patterns define the final geometry of parts and their arrangement on production clusters. Inherently fragile, they are sensitive to the slightest pressure, temperature variations, and friction. Early marking attempts proved it: even poorly controlled settings can cause chipping, burring, or local deformation. The need was twofold: visually delimiting certain areas, and marking alphanumeric identifiers (up to 6 characters) for automated reading. Our answer: mechanical scribing with precise force control. Two levels depending on the requirement: πŸ”΅ Light scribing for visual zone delimitation πŸ”΅ Slightly deeper scribing for alphanumeric identifiers, readable by automated systems Adapted styli minimize burring. The operation takes only a few seconds, compatible with production line rates. Result: legible marking across varied geometries, material integrity preserved, and operational traceability from the very first manufacturing step with better cluster positioning accuracy and reduced downstream error risk.
