💬 “This innovative method marks a significant advance for protein design. By turning binder discovery into a reliable computational process, it opens new opportunities for therapeutic design and innovation in biotechnology.” An AI tool for faster, cheaper drug discovery is one of the #SIBRemarkableOutputs 2025. It joins the annual list of remarkable contributions from SIB Members across Switzerland to the field of #bioinformatics. This work was led by the team of SIB Group Leader Bruno Correia (EPFL) BindCraft designs ‘binder’ proteins that modify the activity of therapeutic targets in a single computational step, removing the need for large-scale experimental screening. The open-source AI tool is already widely used, with applications including blocking allergens and precisely targeting gene therapies. 👉 Discover this shortlist of outstanding works: https://lnkd.in/eE_8PbK3 🥇 SIB Awards Committee: Laurent Falquet (Chair), Maria Anisimova, Luciano Cascione, Janna Hastings, Robert Ivánek, Frederique Lisacek, Charlotte Soneson, Robert Waterhouse, Monique Zahn The SIB Remarkable Outputs gather on a shortlist the most outstanding works produced by SIB members each year. These contributions showcase the latest advances in the Swiss bioinformatics field and include innovative solutions to share with the life science community.
