🔬 Understanding metabolism is key to advancing research on health, disease and biotechnology. Yet metabolic knowledge is scattered across many databases and resources, making it challenging to connect and reuse information effectively. Integrating this knowledge is essential to support discovery and build more comprehensive models of biological systems. Last week, members of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics participated in the 18èmes Journées Scientifiques du Réseau Francophone de Métabolomique et Fluxomique (RFMF) in Lille, France, where SIB was proud to be a sponsor. Florence Mehl, Marco Pagni and Sebastien Moretti delivered a hands-on workshop on MetaNetX, a resource that facilitates the integration and reconciliation of metabolic and biochemical knowledge across databases. The tutorial material is openly available for the community: https://lnkd.in/ep2b932M Marco Pagni also presented the talk "Integration of Heterogeneous Biochemical Knowledge and Assembly of the Next Reconstruction of Human Metabolism with a Focus on Lipids", highlighting work carried out within the Recon4IMD project and advancing efforts towards the next generation of human metabolic reconstructions – read more: https://lnkd.in/dHvkSqdP  A big thank you to the RFMF organisers and participants for fostering exchanges around metabolomics, fluxomics and systems biology. #Metabolomics #Fluxomics #SystemsBiology #Bioinformatics #MetaNetX #OpenScience #RFMF #SIB
