What a beautiful SDG Forum AI for Good event, organised by the United Nations Association of Australia (WA), proudly supported by Curtin University. Thank you so much, Dr. Sandy Chong, for making this happen. It was such an extraordinary one to wrap up the SDGs Series Forum this year! We had such thought-provoking discussions and high-quality networking opportunities. Here are some of my key reflections: • AI is built upon history — it reflects society’s writings, opinions, and actions. • We need to guide and supervise AI so that it responds responsibly and accurately. • AI still struggles to understand real equality, inclusion, and the social rules we live by. • We should treat AI as a tool — one that reflects our collective history and helps us critically evaluate our decisions and actions. • We should remain in charge of every phase where AI is involved. • The inclusivity of AI matters: it should reflect diverse perspectives, viewpoints, and demographics, while acknowledging complex geopolitical realities. • Diversity governance plays a key role — we need different voices, opinions, and perspectives to reflect the communities we truly live in. • Be critical of what AI says. Combine human cognition, cultural understanding, and intersectional thinking to make sound decisions. • Ethical standards should reflect national interests and demographics — and they are dynamic and constantly evolving. • While the impact of AI is hard to measure, we shall remain mentally flexible, agile, curious, and open-minded. When one door closes, another window may open. Under the current system, we’ve seen growing awareness of responsibility, governance, and privacy — but society as a whole still has a long way to go. What we can do is continue our collective efforts, shared reflections, and creative collaborations across platforms like the SDGs Forum, Young Women Leadership Programs, and other organic grassroots initiatives. Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers, distinguished speakers, supporters, and the entire UNAAWA community. Stephen Dawson Anthony J.
