Cinema accidentally taught me one of the best marketing storytelling frameworks. Most great films follow a simple structure: Beginning. Conflict. Resolution. It’s called the Three-Act Structure. And surprisingly… it works brilliantly in marketing. Act 1: The Setup Introduce the audience’s problem or desire. Make them feel seen. (Example: Skincare brands showing common skin concerns) Act 2: The Conflict Highlight struggles, frustrations, or failed solutions. Build emotional relatability. (Example: Showing why existing solutions don’t fully solve the problem) Act 3: The Resolution Introduce the product, service, or idea as a meaningful solution. (Example: Demonstrating transformation, not just features) Why does this work? Because humans naturally connect with stories that mirror their own experiences. That’s why memorable marketing rarely starts with: “Here’s our product.” It starts with: “Here’s something you might be going through.” Great campaigns don’t just sell solutions. They make audiences feel understood first. Maybe that’s why cinema and marketing overlap so beautifully. Both are trying to hold attention. Both are trying to make people feel something. And both succeed when storytelling feels human. What’s a campaign or ad that felt like a story to you instead of marketing? #MarketingStrategy #MarketingStrategist #SocialMediaMarketing #Storytelling #ContentStrategist #Copywriting #ContentMarketing
