I’m honoured to have ranked 1st in the MBBS Year 3 mid-term examinations and 2nd overall at King's College London. This result means a great deal to me, especially after my busiest year of medical school so far. Alongside clinical medicine, research became a major focus of my year. Leading multiple research projects, presenting at international conferences, and achieving 92% (Excellent First Class) in my Year 3 Scholarly Project made it one of the most rewarding parts of this academic year. With so much of my time devoted to research this year, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had still been able to maintain my academic performance. Looking back, I'm even more grateful for the lessons this year brought. Balancing placements, conducting research, building applications and everything else in between wasn't always easy. But it taught me more about resilience and discipline than I ever expected. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my parents, Sridhar Karlapudi and Vijayalakshmi Balasubramanian. I'm also incredibly grateful to my friends for every OSCE practice session and every word of encouragement along the way. I certainly couldn't have achieved this result without you. I look forward to another year of learning as I continue to grow as a future doctor.
