Founder & CEO @ Strategic Consulting | I turn LinkedIn into a Client Acquisition System for Founders, Consultants, Coaches and Freelancers
I first messaged a prospect on January 30th. He responded. Then I followed up. He responded again. This went on for months. Always interested. Never available. Yesterday he finally booked a call. He sells a SaaS product to engineering teams and has been struggling to find clients consistently. Good product. Clear market. Just no pipeline. At some point during the call I told him something honest. "If we had started on January 30th, you'd have 6 to 7 paying clients by now." He went quiet. Not because it was harsh. Because he knew it was true. This is the most expensive mistake I see founders make on LinkedIn. ✓ Not a bad profile. ✓ Not wrong content. ✓ Not poor outreach. ➤ Waiting. ➤ Waiting until the pipeline is completely dry. ➤ Waiting until the pressure is unbearable. ➤ Waiting until there's no other option. The irony is that LinkedIn takes time to work. Not a lot of time. But some. Which means the best time to start was 6 months ago. The second best time is today. Every week you wait is a week of pipeline you'll never get back. My prospect knows that now. The question is whether you'll learn it before or after your own January 30th moment.
