Chinkin Guitar “Raijin & Fujin” Model [Features] Inspired by the celebrated masterpiece Fūjin Raijin-zu (Wind God and Thunder God Screens), famously depicted by Japanese masters such as Tawaraya Sōtatsu and Ogata Kōrin, this model brings the iconic imagery of Raijin and Fujin to life through the traditional Japanese art of Chinkin engraving. Using centuries-old Chinkin techniques, a skilled artisan meticulously carves every line by hand into the lacquer surface before carefully inlaying gold powder into each engraved groove. No printing or transfer processes are used—every detail is created entirely by hand. Set against a deep jet-black body, the dynamic figures of the Wind God and Thunder God appear to race across the heavens. Their powerful movement is expressed through the layered, flowing lines unique to Chinkin, creating a remarkable sense of depth, refinement, and artistic presence. The result is a striking fusion of Japanese mythology, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary musical expression—transforming the instrument into a true work of art. Created entirely by hand by Japanese traditional artisans, this piece represents the fusion of music and craftsmanship at the highest level. More than simply an instrument, this guitar offers not only the joy of performance, but also exceptional visual beauty — a true art piece that fulfills the pleasure of ownership, the excitement of playing, and the delight of admiration.
