This piece reflects on a journey that shaped more than 25 years of my professional life within the United Nations system, and the lessons it has left me with. Leaving the Organization did not diminish my belief in multilateralism or in the importance of a strong, rules-based international system. If anything, it reinforced my conviction that the effectiveness and legitimacy of global institutions depend on integrity, accountability, ethical leadership, and a culture that fully respects and empowers those who serve within them. In "Beyond the United Nations: Reclaiming Integrity and Purpose in Global Governance", I share reflections from my own experience and why I believe that meaningful reform of institutional culture is essential if the UN system is to remain credible, adaptive, and effective in responding to today’s global challenges. I hope these reflections contribute to ongoing conversations among colleagues, Member States, and partners on strengthening the UN system and renewing confidence in the values on which it was founded. #UnitedNations #UNSystem #UNReform #GlobalGovernance #Multilateralism #EthicalLeadership #Accountability #ICSC https://lnkd.in/gpk7f3XH
