I risk sounding facebook-y, but I can get away with this because I actually work with my husband, the SPACEcaptain. It's his birthday today. He tends to stay behind the scenes, but his work doesn't. A lot of folks on here know Tom Niemeier because he’s an incredibly talented architect with an eye for gracious, well-detailed interiors, but the kids and I know him as the bread baker, baseball player, dog dad, fisherman, frustrated gardener, fan of Neil Young and The Office, enthusiastic eater, and a person with an ever-present sense of humor. I’m fortunate I get work with him [mostly successfully!] and raise sorta feral children with him. He is truly a kind, patient, and genuine person, and I think everyone who has met him feels the same way.
