Yesterday, Shell Energy’s Douglas Way joined a panel of industry leaders at the #NAGF2025 in Washington, D.C. to discuss The Downstream Crunch – Is Gas Infrastructure Ready for the Next Wave of Digital and Industrial Demand. And Shell’s Andrey Shuvalov hosted a roundtable of experts to discuss Gas and Renewables Integration. Both sessions proved to reinforce the critical role of natural gas in the energy ecosystem. Doug’s panel highlighted that while every region across the US is, understandably, in a slightly different place when it comes to infrastructure build-out, it is critical for industry and policymakers to have accurate, transparent, and timely load forecasts, especially for large new loads. Andrey’s roundtable dove into meaty topics including strategies for integrating gas and renewables to ensure grid reliability while meeting decarbonization targets and how industry and government can work together to create market structures that incentivize complementary roles for gas and renewables rather than competition.
