The French Marketer | Turn eyeballs into sales | LinkedIn, Social media marketing & Marketing management
How do you go ‘viral’ on social media? I recently finished a French Netflix show – it does come with English subtitles, but don’t watch it dubbed in English or we’re not friends anymore!! (I'm French if you hadn't already guessed) The show is called ‘Drôle’, takes place in Paris and follows a group of stand-up comedians who are trying to break through. In the first episode, we see Aïssatou – a young mum who took a few years off to look after her daughter – make her comeback with a daring sketch. That particular sketch ends up being her one-way ticket to fame and at the end of the episode she finds out a video of the sketch had gone viral on social media. Now, watching that scene as a social media marketer got me thinking... Why is it that this particular video was the one that took Aïssatou places with over 300k likes and 18k shares in under just a few hours – when she had been posting consistently on her social media for years? The same way that one of our TikToks at Cross Productions Limited went viral recently with over 2 million views – it was just a short video, with no edits, posted with no caption or hashtags and at a very random time. So what do you think makes content go ‘viral’: is it the quality, the actual content, or is it completely random? #viral #socialmedia #netflix Netflix l Mathieu Abadon l Joïakim Tuil l Aline Bonnet l Fouad Fallah l Audrey SLIWINSKI l Benjamin Cléry-Melin l Anne-Gabrielle Dauba-Pantanacce
